What Can You Ask Ezra?
From quick verse lookups to deep theological exploration — here are a few ways people use Ezra every day.
Explore a Passage
"Ezra, walk me through Romans 8 — what does Paul mean by 'no condemnation'?"
Ezra reads the passage aloud from your chosen translation, then explains the context, key Greek terms, and how it connects to the rest of Scripture.
Theological Deep Dives
"What does the Bible actually say about the state of the dead?"
Ask hard questions. Ezra walks through the relevant passages, presents different interpretive frameworks, and always points you back to the text.

Ezra offers compassionate, Scripture-grounded encouragement and can lead you through a reflective prayer rooted in the Psalms or other passages.

Frequently Asked Questions
What people ask before their first conversation with Ezra.
What is Ezra by MarkYourBible?
Ezra by MarkYourBible is a voice Bible study companion. You speak a question out loud and Ezra answers from Scripture, looking up every verse in real time from the actual Bible text. It is built by Efibernet Inc. as part of the MarkYourBible ministry led by Pastor John W. Jones.
Does Ezra ever make up Bible verses?
No. Ezra fetches every verse in real time from the actual Bible text rather than quoting from memory. It is prohibited from paraphrasing or inventing a reference, and if a verse cannot be found it says so instead of guessing.
What Bible translations does Ezra support?
Ezra supports six translations: the King James Version (KJV), New International Version (NIV), New Living Translation (NLT), Berean Standard Bible (BSB), American Standard Version (ASV), and World English Bible (WEB). The King James Version is the default.
Is Ezra free to use?
Yes. Ezra is free to start with three minutes of voice conversation every day and no credit card required. The Personal plan is $9.95 per month for thirty hours of conversation, the Church & Leadership plan is $29.95 per month for sixty shared hours, and the Pastors & Church Leaders plan is $39.95 per month for eighty hours of deep study — with 10% off the first month. Every plan, including the free one, can also talk to Ezra by phone for up to 15 minutes a day at (318) 373-5997.
How is Ezra different from using ChatGPT for Bible study?
General AI assistants will produce a plausible-sounding verse that does not exist, because nothing stops them. Ezra is built only for Scripture study and every verse it speaks is retrieved from a real translation at the moment it answers, so the words you hear are the words in the text.
Can I use Ezra for sermon preparation?
Yes. Pastors use Ezra to work through a passage in its context, trace a theme across the whole canon, test an interpretation against the text, and talk through the shape of a message — all by voice, with every verse verified as it is quoted.
Can a small group or church use Ezra together?
Yes. The Church & Leadership plan at $29.95 per month provides sixty hours of shared voice conversation each month, which suits a weekly group Bible study, Sabbath/Sunday School preparation, and congregational use. Pastors and church leaders who need more time can step up to the Pastors & Church Leaders plan at $39.95 per month for eighty hours. Study rooms also let a leader share a session by code so others can follow the transcript.
Does Ezra work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Ezra installs straight from the browser on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS with no app store required. One tap starts a live voice session.
What languages can I talk to Ezra in?
Ezra speaks with you in ten languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Tagalog. Written articles on the site remain in English.
